Huw Jones (aka Fox Control) is a long time Ableton user and an in-demand and constantly working music producer and musician. His musical work spans; original commercial music releases; artist development and producing; composition for TV shows, radio and live theatre performances.
Huw is running his own private studio 'Clever Fox Studio' as a leading Ableton trainer, educator and consultant for teachers in NSW.
Beginning his musical life as a passionate guitarist, Huw has had a more traditional music upbringing with private guitar tuition at Wagga Wagga Conservatorium then transitioning into the professional music world playing in many bands from Blues, funk to hard rock. All the while Huw maintained a constant interest in recording and the sonic possibilities that technology enabled.
This led Huw to find his second musical instrument, Ableton Live. As an ambassador for Ableton Live and Push, Huw has also contributed greatly to the growth of the brand in NSW for educators and musicians alike, working alongside schools, institutions, universities, retailers and CMI.
In 2012, Huw’s debut electronic music release, as Fox Control, was commercially well received charting at #1 on iTunes in Australia and his contributions to many Australia Arts Council and NSW Ministry for the Arts funded theatre productions have earned him awards for ‘Excellence in Sound Design’ in 2015, 2016 and 2018.
Huw’s passion for working with Ableton has aided him in creating musical collaborations and productions that are extremely diverse, from sound design for sculptural and art installations, theme songs for TV shows, producing pop acts to working with institutions and music conservatories producing technological/ contemporary elements for traditional and classical music projects and international
Huw also has a professional background in teaching and training as a teacher with TAFE NSW (Hunter Music Department), alongside 15 years experience in private tuition and artist development.
